Morning Stories………

Here is the link to my own version of the Morning Pages, I have named them Morning Stories as I feel that the process helps us connect to the stories of our inner world.

This handout will show you how to get the most out of your journaling and the process of uncovering what patterns and stories are playing a big part in your day to day thinking. We will be repeating the same thoughts daily.

The average person has over 60,000 thoughts a day (according to Dr Fred Luskin at Stanford University). Of those 60,000, 90% of them are repetitive – through the day and from previous days!

When we have more of a conscious awareness of what the patterns are we have the turning point to make changes. We can begin to catch the trail of thoughts before they run away with us and we can begin the process of filtering out those that no longer serve us.

Writing daily will also help us keep a focus on the new patterns we form. When we are focusing enough we are forming new stories, or understanding our old ones from a new perspective and writing them down, we are supporting new neuro pathways to form. When these become stronger and more in-tune to our daily thinking, the old ways of thinking, feeling and acting will gradually fall away, be pruned down and eventually disappear.

Pick up a pen, find a nice pad of paper.

Choose a quiet spot to be alone for a 10/15 minute block of time.

Don’t stress about what to write or if it makes sense.

Just allow the writing to come, ramble on and trust the process.

Repeat daily.

Let me know how you get on.

Ask me any questions.

Much love
