My nursing career of over 20 years has offered me rich and varied experiences. I am proud to nurse and am grateful for the opportunity to work with all the people that have crossed my path. I’ve worked in many services that have ranged from inpatient, eating disorders, CAMHS, criminal justice and drug and alcohol. I feel these roles have given me the professional background and clinical experience to offer what I do today. I am aware of the difficulties families face, I have seen the challenges and sat with them during some of the most intense times of their lives. I am adept in risk assessments and have a breadth of knowledge in services and organisations to sign post and refer on to if needed.

My extensive history of working in a caring professional has equipped me with the skills in holding a safe space for people to open up and speak about painful experiences. I appreciate the importance of the therapeutic relationship and I am open to work with what is safe for me to do so, in my own capacity. My training has given me skills in solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural therapy.

I draw on the above in all I deliver, a down to earth, collaborative approach, an open opportunity for us to be open and honest together.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is often referred to as a"Cognitive Somatic" therapy, the technique works by releasing blockages within the energy system which are the source of emotional intensity and discomfort. These blockages in our energy system, in addition to challenging us emotionally, often lead to limiting beliefs and behaviours and an inability to live life harmoniously. Resulting symptoms are either emotional and or physical. And can include lack of confidence and self esteem, feeling stuck, anxious or depressed and  the possible emergence of compulsive and addictive behaviours.

Over 100 neuroscience studies show that the EFT quickly calms the brain’s emotional centres and takes the body out of a fight-or-flight response.By tapping 13 specific acupressure points while focusing your mind on a stressful event, it’s possible to retrain your brain to respond with calm instead of stress.

Matrix Reimprinting is a powerful therapy which combines EFT with visualisation to process and release the chronic effects of past trauma and stress in the subconscious mind. It is effective and gentle. In contrast to other therapies, it doesn’t require you to necessarily relive the event and risk re-traumatisation. It works by acknowledging and releasing the emotional charge from the trauma, identifying the negative belief made or strengthened at that moment, and then creating new positive images, outcomes and beliefs in relation to the original event and reimprinting these in the mind and body. 

The effect is often a profound transformation in physical and emotional wellbeing, freedom from the traumatic memory, and a cognitive shift in insight, belief and perception through the deep reframing of the event.

As with EFT, Matrix Reimprinting is effective for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, anger, depression, fears, phobias, addictions, and physical conditions (e.g. menstrual issues and pain, fatigue, insomnia). It is also very helpful in supporting you towards your overall general wellbeing.

Mindfulness Based Inner RePatterning™ (MBIR™) is an easy to use intention based  technique that incorporates both mindfulness and energy therapy to support the mind  and body to self heal. 

The word YOGA according to the great master Patanjali, is defined as the mastery of the dynamic forces of the mind,  with the literal translation accepted as union. This is what I felt my 300 hour trauma informed training offered me. It offered me a deeper understanding of how I can develop my own sense of Self, my choices and my actions. Drawing on the teachings that are offered through the 8 limbs, I found a connection to a life where I could begin to appreciate what I had and I learnt new insights to the driving force behind how I was showing up in my practices. I now draw on the rituals, breath work, meditations and mudras, alongside the reflections of the Yamas and Niyamas in my offerings. Developing a space for healing and honouring it with intention and care is fundamental on the journey. Having some energy clearing techniques prior and post sessions can hold you in the process with a lot of ease and grace.

Under the branch of Nada yoga, I am also a trained in Chakradancing and creative meditation practitioner. This is movement modality, that offers a space to move to the sound of music dedicated and created for each chakra in turn, start from the root to the crown. Turning into each portal as we dance we are clearing and creating space that will offer a deep connection to our own internal wisdom. This can guide our self healing. I will at points of time be offering this out in the communities

The power that is held in a pen, has been an anchor in my journey. Journaling and creative writing offers a space to unpack, make sense and integrate all the stories we have stored in us. I have used a daily journaling practice for many years. This is my opportunity to start the day with a clear mindset, I set intentions for what I want to call in, make sense of what is left from my sleep state and clear the dust from what happened the day before. Using writing as a form of self-expression also holds a lot of power. Even if these writings aren’t shared, they give a platform for the words that we couldn’t say out loud. They allow for them to see the light of day, to be written and seen. This can be the beginning of working with a deeper process of self mastery. I will throughout our time together be offering exercises, prompts and suggestions in how we can weave this process into your life.

I continue to be on my own journey. I continue to learn new ways of understanding and being with emotions and healing. I am professionally bound to keep up to date with mandatory training. I engage in maintaining my continuous professional development through attending training, mentoring and engaging in self directed learning.

I keep an up to date enhanced DBS check so I know I’m working within a safe framework for those who choose to work alongside me.
